The Chicago Hitmen wiggled past the San Diego Hops, 6-5, at SouthSide Park. Chicago pitcher Song Wa earned player of the game honors. San Diego has now lost 4 in a row.
Ashton Stanton provided some late-game heroics for Chicago. In the bottom of the tenth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a full count fastball from Mal Tosewell and propelled Chicago to a 6-5 lead.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Stanton said.
