Tornadoes Fall to .500 After Loss to Beavers
|
The Portland Beavers picked up a win at Debris Field, knocking off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 8-6. On the mound for Portland was right-hander Pedro Pérez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Pérez got the win, improving to 6-8. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Pérez allowed 4 earned runs. Toyotomi Nakano earned the save for Portland, his 29th of the year.
In the top of the third, António Barbarro hit a 2-run double for Portland. The 19th double of the season for the Portland right fielder put the Beavers on top, 4-2.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Pérez.
At 66-68, Portland is in 4th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
