Marauders Suffer 3-1 Loss to Blazers
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Bloomington Blazers and the Maple Marauders, pitcher Wayne Dougherty was the difference between victory and defeat. The Bloomington right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 Blazers win. With the win over Maple, the Blazers improved to 48-85.
Dougherty contributed when he drew a walk in the bottom of the sixth. Coming with two outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, the walk proved to be critical to helping Bloomington get the win.
Dougherty said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
