|
The New York Mafia picked up a win at Stars & Stripes Stadium, knocking off the Manhattan Beach Patriots, 5-3. Starting pitcher Curt Rhodes played a key role in the triumph. Rhodes, now 14-9, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs. Getting the save was Kunihiko Mizuno, his 25th.
Chris Glover delivered a big hit for the Mafia. The veteran third baseman belted a solo home run in the top of the seventh. The longball put New York on top, 4-2. Overall, Glover went 1 for 4 with a home run.
Glover called the win "a collective effort."
The Mafia improved to 61-73.
