Vázquez Lifts Mustangs to 7-0 Triumph
|
With third baseman Daniel Vázquez leading the charge, the Mile High Mustangs defeated the Quebec Armada, 7-0, at McNichols Stadium. Vázquez, who is tied for 7th in the TML in bases on balls with 74, was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Lorenzo Soto, the winner, improved to 6-6. He held the Armada to 0 runs on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 0. The Mustangs' win now puts them at 53-80.
With Mile High leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Vázquez hit a slider from Jeff Kimball for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Mustangs ahead, 4-0.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Mile High manager Dave Harris.
