Marauders Clip Blazers in Tight Contest
Despite a fine performance by third baseman Hidekazu Takeuchi, the Bloomington Blazers suffered a 9-7 loss to the Maple Marauders. Takeuchi was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Maple reliever Héctor Zúñiga picked up the win, bumping his record to 8-2. Kenny Allen was collared with the loss. Adrien Clément closed the door for Maple, picking up his 30th save of the year.

Maple took control in the top of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ricardo Corte hit a run-scoring double to make it 7-6, Marauders.

"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Corte told the Maple Gazette.
