Stogies Suffer 7-3 Setback
|
A 3-RBI performance from Steve McGowan, who is a two-time Most Valuable Player Award winner, helped the Columbus Codebreakers beat the Havana Stogies, 7-3. The third-place Codebreakers have won 4 straight games.
McGowan contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Columbus in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, McGowan took a cutter from Kagehisa Saikawa and stroked the home run to left. His 17th home run of the season allowed the Codebreakers to leap in front, 3-1.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," McGowan told the Columbus News.
