The Minnesota Berserkers and Chicago Hitmen played an exciting game at SouthSide Park.
Minnesota starter Manuel Crespo had a strong outing against the Chicago Hitmen at SouthSide Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Crespo picked up the win for Minnesota, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 9-11. Ti-an Dan earned his 16th save in 24 chances.
The Berserkers got a big at-bat from designated hitter William Cunningham. For the game, Cunningham was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 98th hit of the season gave Minnesota a 2-0 lead.
After the game, Minnesota manager Jerry Miller applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
At 54-78, the Berserkers are currently 6th in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
