The Brooklyn Black Knights defeated the San Diego Hops, 7-6, in Roberto Clemente League action at Blue Ivy Stadium. Kata Nishikawa received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Tokaji Goto converted his 33rd save in 38 tries. Brooklyn is now 68-62, San Diego 47-82.

Late-game drama came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Brooklyn center fielder Kazuki Yamamoto hit a run-scoring double, helping his team get the win.

"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Nishikawa.
