Great Day for Walker in Earthquakes Win
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the Kansas City Tornadoes, 14-4, in Thurman Munson League action at Debris Field. Anthony Walker received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Carlos Estrada picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 5 in 5.2 innings. The Earthquakes bumped their record to 78-52 with this latest triumph.
Lorenzo Atilano contributed to the San Francisco cause with a productive at-bat in the top of the first inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly, propelling San Francisco to the win.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Atilano.
