The New York Mafia wasted an inspired, 8-inning effort from starter Nobuhito Suzuki, falling 2-1 to the Kansas City Tornadoes at Debris Field. The Tornadoes now have a record of 66-63 with the win over New York.

Kansas City second baseman Eduardo López changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the eighth. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Nobuhito Suzuki. His 2nd home run of the season put Kansas City in front, 2-1.

López said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
