Marauders Deal Hitmen 4-1 Setback
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Legends Park enjoyed a good ballgame.
Maple Marauders starter Landy Lu was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Chicago Hitmen, 4-1. Adrien Clément got credit for the save for Maple. It was his 27th of the year.
One critical moment came in the top of the sixth, when Maple bent under pressure but did not break. The score was 4-1, Maple, with one out. Chicago had the bases loaded. But Ashton Stanton couldn't get the clutch base hit. Instead, on a 3-1 cutter, he hit into a double play.
Maple is now 77-51, Chicago 61-67.
