A 4-RBI performance from Fernando Murillo helped the So Cal Republic beat the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 5-2. Adhipa Vemireddy got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Christian Wallace recorded his 4th save for So Cal.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Alim bin Umar didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Cabo San Lucas trailing 4-2, bin Umar retired Tim Buck to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said bin Umar, with a wink.

The hot start continues for the defending champion Republic, who took their 10th win in 13 this year.
