Jersey Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
Left-hander Masafumi Tamura mesmerized the Jersey Jesters while leading the So Cal Republic to a 4-0 victory. In 7 innings, Tamura surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The Republic, at 88-39, have a comfortable 18-game lead in their division.
The So Cal dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Republic put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
