Hornets Raise Rally Flag, Beat Mile High, 4-1
|
Mile High pitcher Jose Albertrani gave the Hornets all they could handle, but in the end, Eureka left McNichols Stadium with a 4-1 win. Albertrani allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings. Eureka starter Paul Barrett was credited with the win after throwing 103 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 15-6. The save was credited to Andrés Nevárez, his 39th.
Jorge Moreno contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that helped Eureka get the win.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Eureka skipper Stephen Jackson. "I can't complain."
The slumping Mustangs have dropped 7 in a row.
