Duke City got a terrific performance from pitcher Walt Lawson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Dallas Texans. Dallas won the The Danger Zone contest, 4-2. Lawson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 9 innings of 5-hit ball. Felipe Rodríguez earned the win to go to 9-15. He allowed 2 earned runs on 10 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. The Texans improve their record to 53-70 with the win over Duke City.

A defensive miscue in the top of the fifth cost the Danger. With Dallas leading 1-0, Juan Martínez reached on an error by the 3B. Dallas ended up winning the ballgame.

"Good win for us," said Martínez. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
