San Francisco Beats South Carolina, 6-4
|
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Kiyonobu Yamasaki, the South Carolina Bombers suffered a 6-4 loss to the San Francisco Earthquakes. Yamasaki went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times. Lonnie Powell was credited with the save for San Francisco, his 4th of the season. San Francisco is now 76-48.
Tim Cummings delivered a big hit for the Earthquakes. The veteran catcher belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. The longball put San Francisco on top, 5-3. Overall, Cummings went 1-3 with a home run.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Cummings.
