Cabo San Lucas Topples Jersey, 8-7
|
In a tight contest at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards, the Cabo San Lucas Toreros edged the Jersey Jesters by the score of 8-7. Cabo San Lucas shortstop Haruki Yoshino, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Luis Sánchez, the winner, improved to 7-6. He held Jersey to 5 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The 6th-place Toreros have won 4 straight games.
Yoshino had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Toreros went on to win.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Cabo San Lucas manager José Núñez.
