Berserkers Continue Skid Thanks to Kim Jr., Republic
|
The So Cal Republic defeated the Minnesota Berserkers, 8-6, in Roberto Clemente League action at House of the Republic. Jong-min Kim Jr. received player of the game honors. The 8-year veteran went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Berserkers, now 51-72, have lost 4 in a row.
Kim Jr. had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the first for the Republic. Coming up with a runner on 1st and So Cal trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
"We maximized our offense today," said So Cal skipper Munenori Sato. "That makes everyone's life easier."
