Bombers Jolt Tornadoes with Late Rally

South Carolina and Kansas City met at Debris Field in front of a lively crowd.
South Carolina Bombers starter Tom O'Day was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Kansas City Tornadoes, 5-2. In 7 innings, O'Day surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Anupradana Agarkar closed it out for his 32nd save.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Michael Fitzgerald's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With two out, the South Carolina third baseman hit a 3-run home run, to give his team a 5-2 lead.
"I'm proud to wear a South Carolina jersey," O'Day told the South Carolina News. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
Their 67-54 record puts the Bombers third in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
