Sasquatch Shut Out Earthquakes
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes wasted an impressive 5-inning effort from starter Gonzalo Ramírez, falling 1-0 to the Seattle Sasquatch at Golden Gate Park. Seattle reliever Olivier Martin was the winner. His record is now 5-1. The losing pitcher was Kalyanavarman Nagaraj. The save went to Coco Yamashita, his 4th this season.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the eighth inning. Facing San Francisco hurler Chong-hyeon Kim, Matt Clark, who is a two-time All-Star, drew a walk. The Sasquatch went on to win.
"The old adage is true," said Clark. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
The 4th-place Sasquatch have won 4 in a row.
