Grays Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Black Knights
|
The Georgia Grays defeated the Brooklyn Black Knights, 7-4, in Thurman Munson League action at Blue Ivy Stadium, with Georgia left fielder Sergio Esquivel named player of the game. Bryan Lynch, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.2 innings. Georgia, now 8-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The most crucial at-bat for Georgia came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Esquivel stroked a 2-2 fastball to right for a 2-run single, putting Georgia up, 6-4.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Esquivel.
