Tornadoes Bang Out 8-5 Win Versus Quebec
|
Eduardo López was instrumental in his team's 8-5 triumph over the Quebec Armada. The second baseman was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Kansas City Tornadoes. José Rivera got credit for the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Kansas City now sits in third place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division at 60-57.
Tamotsu Yamashita put Kansas City in front, 5-4, when he hit a 3-run home run off Oniji Nakashima in the bottom of the first. It was his 4th home run of the season.
In comments to the Kansas City Observer, Yamashita admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
