Marauders Come Back Late, Nip Toreros
|
Maple starter Landy Lu had a strong outing against the Cabo San Lucas Toreros at Legends Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Maple reliever Maulik Shaw picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Chris Wheeler shouldered the loss. Maple is now 67-49, Cabo San Lucas 58-58.
Sal Ostendorff said the idea of hitting a home run crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Ostendorff belted a 2-run home run to stake Maple to a 4-3 lead. His 19th home run of the season came off Cabo San Lucas pitcher Chris Wheeler.
After the game, Maple manager Arinori Nakamura applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
