The Chicago Hitmen faced a tough opponent in San Diego pitcher Jesús Ramírez, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Brew Stade by a final score of 7-6. Ramírez went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Ch'ang-chieh Tann earned his 31st save in 34 tries. The 5th-place Hitmen are now 55-61, the Hops 42-73.

Chicago took a 7-5 lead on Pat Pittman's 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off San Diego pitcher Son Mai in the top of the ninth.
