Eureka rode a fine outing from starter Mitsunari Kobayashi to victory over the Columbus Codebreakers at The Nest. The final score was 8-0. With the win, Eureka has a record of 63-51. Columbus falls to 60-51.

Juan Jose Cortéz delivered a big hit for the Hornets. The veteran second baseman belted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. The longball put Eureka on top, 8-0. Overall, Cortéz went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Eureka Hornets manager Stephen Jackson.
