Mustangs Take Close Win Over Black Knights
The Mile High Mustangs and Brooklyn Black Knights played an exciting game at McNichols Stadium.

Mile High beat Brooklyn on the strength of starter Akinori Samurakami's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Samurakami went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 12. His record improves to 3-6.

Mile High first baseman Marshall Dempsey changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the eighth. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Rod Larcombe. His 30th home run of the season put Mile High in front, 4-3.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Brooklyn manager Diego Aguirre.
