Tight Tilt Goes to Jacks, 3-2

The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Jacksonville fans at Skellington Stadium.
The bats were silent much of the day at Skellington Stadium. But Masamichi Fujita conjured up just enough offense to carry the Jacks past the So Cal Republic, 3-2. Fujita went 1 for 1 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Noriyuki Ikeda got the win, improving to 8-7. He held the Republic to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Minh-Duc Pamungkas closed it out for his 2nd save.
Fujita had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the first, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Jacks went on to win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said So Cal manager Munenori Sato.
Jacksonville's record now stands at 58-55, placing them 4th in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
