The Manhattan Beach Patriots went home winners at Stars & Stripes Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Juan Mendoza. Mendoza silenced the Portland Beavers, enabling Manhattan Beach to grab the 4-0 win. Their 60-52 record puts the Patriots third in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fifth inning, but Mendoza was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Portland trailing 2-0, Mendoza retired Anuvaha Tasha, who grounded out.
