Late Magic Gets New York 9-8 Win
The inspired effort of Georgia catcher Masami Tanaka was not enough to prevent a 9-8 loss to the New York Mafia. Tanaka was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. New York reliever Yoson Matsushita picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-2. Bryan Lynch was collared with the loss. With the win, the Mafia improved to 54-57.

Coming to the plate with one out in the bottom of the 11th inning, New York second baseman Chris Glover had a chance to be the hero. Facing Georgia pitcher Bryan Lynch with runners on 1st and 3rd, Glover grounded out, driving in 1 run.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Glover said in his postgame press conference.
