Great Day for Dempsey in Mustangs Win
|
The Mile High Mustangs trumped the Brooklyn Black Knights, 9-4, at McNichols Stadium. Mile High first baseman Marshall Dempsey was named player of the game for his performance. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win was Emerson Webber's in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Wilson Deleón took the loss for Brooklyn. Mile High currently is in last place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division at 44-68.
A key at-bat came in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Eddy Jacobse, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-3, Mile High, and helped them go on to win.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Dempsey told the Mile High Times.
