Fukuda Helps Armada Beat Beavers
|
The Quebec Armada beat the Portland Beavers, 7-4, at Lucky 7 Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Shunso Fukuda, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Yohann Bosler was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Quebec has now won 4 straight, while the Beavers have lost 3 in a row.
The Armada got a big at-bat from shortstop Felipe Reyes. For the game, Reyes went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 146th hit of the season gave Quebec a 4-3 lead.
"Shunso is still learning," said Quebec Armada manager Neal Jackson. "The sky's the limit for him."
