The Chicago Hitmen got a strong performance from pitcher Ashwini Sapthotharan, who stymied the Las Vegas offense en route to a 5-2 win at SouthSide Park. Sapthotharan, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The Hitmen improved to 53-57.

The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the SouthSide Park crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.

"Enjoyed this one," Sapthotharan told the Chicago Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
