Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Berserkers
|
The Minnesota Berserkers got a rain-soaked win over the Brooklyn Black Knights at Blue Ivy Stadium.
Minnesota got a first-rate effort from pitcher Elias Bowen, who frustrated Brooklyn hitters en route to a 2-1 Berserkers triumph at Blue Ivy Stadium. At 48-62, Minnesota is in 6th place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
Both teams had trouble scoring runs. So, William Cunningham's at-bat in the top of the eighth was huge. With one out, the Minnesota first baseman hit a run-scoring single, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Minnesota manager Jerry Miller said.
