The Manhattan Beach Patriots beat the San Diego Hops, 7-2, at Stars & Stripes Stadium. The Patriots got a fine performance from first baseman Ed Greer, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luciano Carreiras got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The 4th-place Patriots lifted their record to 53-50.
