Chicago first baseman António Morán picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the New York Mafia, 6-5. Chicago reliever Naomi Gato got the win, raising his record to 5-1. Bob Ruíz was tagged with the loss. Chicago has now won 5 games in a row.
Early in the game, Morán had a 3-run home run for Chicago. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Hitmen on top, 5-2.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Chicago manager Steve Hansen.
