Patriots Lose to Hops, 4-3
|
Juan Mendoza pitched a good game, but his team, the Manhattan Beach Patriots, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the San Diego Hops at Stars & Stripes Stadium. Gonzalo Diéguez was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. The win puts the Hops at 40-62, while the Patriots drop to 52-50.
Flexing his muscles for San Diego was Donald Cameron. The shortstop had a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth for the Hops. It put his team ahead, 4-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Cameron went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Cameron.
