Berserkers Come Back Late to Top Codebreakers
|
Though he had a great game, Nobuatsu Kaneko could not single-handedly produce a win for Columbus. Minnesota won the game, 3-2. Kaneko was named the player of the game. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Minnesota occupies 6th place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division at 45-57.
Both teams had trouble manufacturing runs. So, Noriyuki Rin's at-bat in the top of the eighth was critical. With one out, the Minnesota shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"Against this team here, fangs out late in the game, it's nice to beat them," said Minnesota skipper Jerry Miller.
