Riding the 2-hit performance of the former first round draft pick John Oakes, the Havana Stogies stopped the Omaha Titans, 4-2. The win was credited to Ijaz Kharoti in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Adam Stickells took the loss. With the win, the Stogies improved to 60-42.
Oakes turned the game around in the top of the eighth. That's when the Havana shortstop dialed up a 2-run home run. Just like that, Havana's 2-1 deficit turned into a 3-2 lead.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Havana manager Reynaldo Vázquez.
