Late Rally by Black Knights Secures Win
New York shortstop Kwang-rak Song had a terrific game. He went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Brooklyn beat the Mafia, 9-7. Song was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Tony Morán in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Juan Gómez took the loss. Tokaji Goto earned the save for Brooklyn, his 23rd of the year.

Had Ernest Vance not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Vance hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Black Knights.

"We take it day by day here," said Vance, "and today was a good one for us."

Brooklyn, at 52-49, occupies 4th place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
