Toreros Lose, 7-4, at Golden Gate Park
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes topped the Cabo San Lucas Toreros, 7-4, with youngster Noam Foucher playing a key role. Foucher went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Earthquakes in the win. Jonathan Martin converted his 25th save in 29 tries. San Francisco is now 59-41, 2½ games up in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
Foucher contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for San Francisco in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-2, Foucher took a fastball from Luis Sánchez and stroked the home run to left. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Earthquakes to leap in front, 5-4.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Foucher told the San Francisco Today.
