The New York Mafia picked up a win at Don Corleone Park, knocking off the Omaha Titans, 7-1. On the mound for New York was right-hander Bob Ruíz, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Ruíz, now 2-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Akihito Sakei earned the save, his 1st.
In the bottom of the first, Doug White hit a 2-run single for New York. The 13th hit of the season for the New York first baseman put the Mafia on top, 2-0.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Ruíz said.
The Titans drop to 5-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2028 season.
