The New York Mafia picked up a win at Don Corleone Park, knocking off the Brooklyn Black Knights, 6-1. Starting pitcher Nobuhito Suzuki played a key role in the triumph. In 8 innings, Suzuki surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. New York's record now stands at 48-52, placing them 5th in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
New York-born Chris Glover came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st and the Mafia trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to right to put New York on top.
