Glover goes 3-for-4, Leads Mafia to Win
New York and So Cal met at House of the Republic in front of a lively crowd.

The New York Mafia defeated the So Cal Republic, 14-7, in Roberto Clemente League action at House of the Republic. Chris Glover received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Brad Lyons got the win, improving to 5-3. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 10 hits and 6 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 3.

Octávio García helped the New York cause in the top of the fifth. With the bases loaded and New York trailing 3-2, he put the hurt on a fastball from Masafumi Tamura, launching it over the fence for a 4-run homer. The blast put the Mafia in front, 6-3.

García told a New York Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

The Mafia go to 47-52, putting them 5th in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
