Loss Extends Oklahoma City Losing Streak
|
In a close game at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards, the Jersey Jesters edged the Oklahoma City Prowlers, 5-4. Jersey first baseman Anujestha Puri earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Mitsuharu Shionoya earned the win to go to 4-7. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Ron Anderson earned the save for Jersey, his 17th of the year.
In the first inning, Puri had a 2-run home run for Jersey. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Jesters on top, 2-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Puri said after the game.
The slumping Prowlers have lost 6 straight.
