Jacks Pull Back to Even with 3-0 Victory
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Jacksonville Jacks and the Mile High Mustangs, pitcher Denzel Tatchell was the difference between victory and defeat. The Jacksonville right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-0 Jacks win. Noriyuki Ikeda earned the win for Jacksonville. He lasted 5 innings, allowing no earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 6-7. Minh-Duc Pamungkas, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Quentin Place was a key contributor to the win for the Jacks. In the bottom of the sixth with two out, the light-hitting center fielder stroked a single to center. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
Place said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
At 49-49, the Jacks are currently 6th in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
