Tornadoes Defeat Prowlers, 7-4
|
With right fielder Todd McCarthy leading the charge, the Kansas City Tornadoes defeated the Oklahoma City Prowlers, 7-4, at Memorial Circle Park. McCarthy, who is on pace for 100 RBI this season, was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Michael Burton, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 24th save. Kansas City has now won 4 games in a row.
In the top of the first inning, Kansas City got a break when McCarthy went to the plate. With two outs, the bases empty and the Tornadoes leading 1-0, McCarthy hit a solo home run.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Kansas City manager Alex Woods.
