The Cabo San Lucas Toreros defeated the Chicago Hitmen, 10-4, in Thurman Munson League action at SouthSide Park. Mokichi Kono received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Chicago has now lost 7 in a row.

In the top of the fourth inning, Cabo San Lucas got a break when Kono went to the plate. With two outs, the bases loaded and the Toreros leading 3-2, Kono hit a grand slam.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Kono told the Cabo San Lucas Daily News.
