Big Day at the Plate for Ruíz Not Enough
Esteban Ruíz had a good game, but he could not keep the Columbus Codebreakers from falling, 10-7, to the Havana Stogies at Central Park Downtown Stadium. The Columbus shortstop went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice in the loss. Havana reliever Kagehisa Saikawa picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Tadasuke Kato was saddled with the loss. Havana has a 3-game win streak, while Columbus has lost 3 in a row.

Lu-po-teh Cheung gave Havana a good at-bat in the top of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to help send Havana to the win.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Cheung said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
