Carter Stars for Prowlers in 5-2 Win
|
The exploits of designated hitter Alvin Carter helped the Oklahoma City Prowlers defeat the Minnesota Berserkers, 5-2. Carter belted 2 home runs. Alfredo Cabrera got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Berserkers to 2 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Cong Foong picked up the save, his 1st.
Also pitching for Oklahoma City was third baseman Zi-jun Gou, who hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, Gou was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs.
Carter told a Oklahoma City Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The Prowlers raised their record to 41-45.
